The present progressive is used to say what is happening right now. It is formed by combining a form of estar with the present participle. To add the present progressive ending, you take the verb you want to use, take of the ending, and then add either the -ando or -iendo to the stem. Ex. Hacer = Haciendo, Estudiar = estudiando
Irregulars
Irregulars
When the stem of an -er/-ir verb ends in a vowel, the i in the verb changes to a y. For example to leer= leyendo (ir=yendo).
There are no stem changes for -ar and -er verbs. However, any regular -ir boot verb will change to be either e-i or o-u. For example pedir = pidiendo and dormir = durmiendo.
